Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night indicating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.
The team did not mention Rice by name in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
